Sellpy in Exclusive Artist Collaboration – Sellpy Upcycled 2.0

2024-07-11

Utilizing resources to the fullest is part of Sellpy's DNA. We are therefore pleased to launch the new Sellpy Upcycled collaborations – exclusive collections created by upcyclers, artists, and designers. This initiative redefines sustainable fashion and gives a second chance to items that are no longer in use. The collaboration aims to make it easier for creative individuals to source materials from Sellpy, thereby extending the lifespan of used garments and spreading upcycling to a broader audience.

Ingrid started upcycling as a hobby in 2017, and it is now a significant part of her life. Iggy Jeans was founded with a passion for denim and the environment at the age of 15. Iggy Jeans has released several collections where new life has been given to vintage denim with hand-painted patterns. She has also collaborated with various brands and designed denim for them. In 2022, she deepened her knowledge of denim during an internship at Miu Miu in Milan.

In this collaboration with Sellpy, Iggy Jeans has used an original Swedish Petroff leather jacket often associated with Scandinavian rock bands.

“It is interesting to have a starting point with a history, like this specific jacket or a pair of 501s. When they are upcycled, it gives a classic product a new expression and targets a completely different person.”

Daniela Doe is a Portuguese-French designer who currently runs her own studio in Malmö. She works on a mix of personal projects and commissions within textiles, graphic design, and art direction. Sorrel has a background in the music industry, creative direction, and strategy.

“Upcycling is about giving new life to pre-loved material. It is a creative way to reclaim and reshape items to create something valuable and unique.”

All the garments Daniela and Sorrell have sourced from Sellpy already have their own unique backgrounds, and now in their new form, these garments will embark on all sorts of adventures and be displayed on stages around the world as the band BITOI performs. Daniela and Sorrell have drawn inspiration from natural textures and shapes, such as mushrooms and jellyfish, to create something unique and fitting for BITOI's performances.

Irma Skjöth is a designer and multi-creative who founded the brand Irma Skjöth. In recent years, she has worked internationally within high fashion and developed her brand as well as various concept collections. For her, creation and creativity are a safe place without rules, where the process leads the way.

Her collections are made from reused vintage fabrics, handmade in Sweden. The goal is to promote a sustainable lifestyle and a conscious, long-lasting approach to fashion, design, and textiles. Each garment is unique and can bear signs of a previous life, which is appreciated and carried forward to a new body and use.
